We hope you are all doing okay. We are reaching out to let you know that we are not meeting for March. The LLOPS Professional Development Workshop is being planned for June, and the Program Committee took the month off.
Be on the lookout for our April 28 meeting invite coming soon. We are excited to be hosting Kelly Fitzpatrick from the Harvard Caselaw Access Project and Catherine Brobston from H2O open casebooks. Details forthcoming!
For everyone who did not make the meeting on today or who just wanted access to the slides and resources provided by our guest speaker, Sarah Larsen, please see the slides and links below:
As a follow-up to Mark’s email below, I am sending one more message off listserv to ensure it reaches all members. We hope that you received listserv communications from Program Committee Co-Chairs Crystal Alberthal and Maya Swanes last week about our next virtual meeting (more details about that below). If you did not receive their email or if you have experienced delivery issues in the past, the Gaggle Mail Knowledgebase suggests following the instructions outlined in their Delivery Kit to add the LLOPS listserv email (llops@gaggle.email) to your pre-approved contact list. The Delivery Kit contains instructions on how to do this in various email platforms (Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, Android Mail, etc.). Taking this step should ensure successful delivery in the future, but if you continue experiencing problems, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mark Desierto, Kristin Kimura, and me (cc’d on this email), and we will help troubleshoot the issue.
I also wanted to thank everyone who has completed the LLOPS Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Survey. The Board and I appreciate you taking the time to share your input and feedback with us. The survey will close tomorrow, February 9th at 5pm PST. If you have not had a chance to take the survey yet, please consider doing so before it closes.
Lastly, if you did not receive Crystal and Maya’s email last week, details about the upcoming virtual meeting are below.
Please save the date for the February LLOPS meeting on Wednesday, February 24 at 12 noon. The program committee is excited to announce that Sarah Larsen, Outreach Librarian at Minnesota State Law Library will be coming to speak with us about her outreach and access to justice efforts during a pandemic. You can read a bit about her efforts from her recent blog shared via the KnowItAALL.
We hope you will join us this Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 12 noon for the October LLOPS meeting. We will feature Allison Feher, who is the Administrative Manager for the Seattle chapter of the League of Women Voters! Since it is election season, we thought it would be great to hear from someone involved with an organization focused on increasing civic engagement. In order to tailor her presentation to our interests, Allison would like to know what topics we want her to cover. To that end, please take a second to complete this (one question) survey and let us know what you would like to know about the LWV (or elections more generally) or what questions you would like Allison to address.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you there!
For the past several years, the American Association of Law Libraries has been hosting the LLOPS listserv (llops@listserv.aallnet.org), but due to administrative changes and a significant price increase, we will be transitioning to a more cost-effective platform.
The Executive Board and current Webmaster, Kristin Kimura, evaluated several different options and we decided to move forward with a listserv platform called Gaggle Mail. This platform is cost-effective, it has sound privacy & data security policies, and it is easy to use.
We will transition to Gaggle Mail on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 and the old listserv will retire on Friday, October 30th, 2020. Members will receive a welcome email from Gaggle Mail, which will include our new listserv email address (llops@gaggle.email) and information about the LLOPS mailing list. If you do not receive a welcome email or if you have any questions, please contact Kristin Kimura for assistance.
We hope you are doing well. Please save the date for our September LLOPS meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, September 30, from 12 noon-1:00. We are excited to announce that our for this meeting our AALL chapter visitor, Cornell Winston, the AALL Treasurer, will be meeting with us virtually this year.
We hope you are doing well and that you will join us for our August LLOPS meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, August 26 from 12 noon-1:00. The topic for this meeting is TBD. We will announce the topic once scheduled, but wanted to make sure its on the calendar in the meantime!
