Hi there LLOPSters,

Have you started to use a NEW product in your work that you’d like others to know about?

Nominations for the 2025 AALL New Product Award are due on Saturday, March 1, 2025.  Vendors or AALL members can submit nominations here.

To be eligible, the product must be a new and innovative commercial legal information resource that enhances or improves existing law library services and/or procedures.

• “New” means that the product has been on the market for less than 2 years.
• A product that has been “re-introduced” in a new format or that has substantial changes is eligible.
• Enhancements of existing products are not eligible unless the enhancement provides a completely new method of using the product and information retrieval is substantially improved.

Recent awards were for Vincent AI (2024) and Lexis+ Fact & Issue Finder (2023).

You can send the information above to a vendor to self-nominate, or you can submit a nomination yourself.  All nominations are welcome!

Washington Library Association is hosting WA Library Legislative Day in Olympia on Wed., Feb. 5. Read more about it and register here. Registration is free and it’s a great way to become involved in library advocacy. Highlights of the event include:

• Connect with library supporters from all types of libraries around the state.
• Attend sessions and hear testimony from fellow library professionals along with WLA lobbyist Carolyn Logue.
• Meet with State legislators and their staff to discuss the value of libraries and the impact laws have on them.
• Understand how to give effective testimony and advocate for libraries, to better support them in years to come!
