The LLOPS Grants Committee received several very strong applications this year and tried to support as many of them as possible. The Committee has awarded $1,558 to four members (listed below) in support of their attendance at the 2015 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia and the Spring Professional Development Workshop. We all look forward to the recipients’ report on the events and programming of the 108th annual gathering of AALL.

Save the Date: AALL Business Skills Clinic to be Held October 16-17
Save the date for the AALL Business Skills Clinic, a two-day intensive experience designed to give you skills in strategic planning, managerial finance, human resources, negotiations, and marketing/communications. The program will be held October 16-17 at the Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel in Chicago. Contact Katie Brown, Chair of the Business Skills Education Task Force or Celeste Smith, AALL’s director of education, for more information.
In case you missed it, the keynote speaker for the 2015 AALL Annual Meeting will be Terry Gross (the host and co-executive producer of NPR’s Fresh Air)! The AALL Leadership Development Committee calls for nominations for the 2015 Emerging Leader Award.The award recognizes newer members in their first 10 years of law library experience who have already made significant contributions to the Association and/or to the profession and have demonstrated the potential for leadership and continuing service. The Emerging Leader Award is presented to the recipient at AALL Annual Meeting.It is given in the name of the Association and carries with it a $500 cash prize.
