Are you aware of an AALL member, library, SIS, or chapter that has undertaken some extraordinary or inspiring community engagement in the past year? Do you feel that these efforts deserve to be recognized by our peers?
The Excellence in Community Engagement Award honors outstanding achievement in public relations activities by an AALL member, library, SIS, chapter, or any other group affiliated with the Association. It is designed to recognize and honor activities or projects that exemplify outstanding outreach efforts through community engagement and that raise the visibility of the profession and the Association. This includes persons or groups who have demonstrated excellence in community engagement, collaboration, visibility, networking, and/or member-to-member relationships. More details about the award criteria, a list of previous winners, and the nomination form can be found on the Excellence in Community Engagement Award webpage.
Eligible projects for this award cycle must have taken place between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024. The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2025.

Have you, or someone you know, worked hard to advocate for AALL polices? Have you made an effort to protect and promote public access to government information? If so, consider applying for the AALL Government Relations Committee’s two annual awards. The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2025.
Public Access to Government Information Award
Established in 1998, the Public Access to Government Information Award is given to recognize persons or organizations that have made significant contributions to protect and promote greater public access to government information. More information about the criteria and nomination process can be found at the PAGI Award page.
Robert L. Oakley Advocacy Award
Established in 2008, the Advocacy Award is given to recognize an AALL member or group who has been an outstanding advocate and has contributed significantly to the AALL policy agenda at the federal, state, local, or international level. The award honors the memory of Robert L. Oakley, AALL’s Washington affairs representative (1989-2007). More information about the criteria and nomination process can be found at the Robert L. The Nominations & Elections Committee is seeking candidates for the upcoming LLOPS Executive Board election.
The 2025 Nominations & Elections Committee is composed of Angela Gonzalez-Curci, Barbara Engstrom, Jonathan Franklin, LeighAnne Thompson, and Melia Mauer Cossette. Per the LLOPS Bylaws, the committee represents at least 2 types of law libraries. We currently have government/courts, firm, and academic law library members. Please let us know if you would like to join our committee.
We are recruiting candidates for: Vice-President/President Elect and Treasurer. The duties of these positions can be found in the Chapter Manual on http://llops.org/
You may nominate yourself or a colleague you believe would be an asset to the chapter. We highly encourage self-nominations. It is a great way to fill leadership gaps in your resume and network with your professional colleagues.
The deadline for nominations is Monday, February 24th at 5pm.

Nominations for the 2025 AALL New Product Award are due on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Vendors or AALL members can submit nominations here.
To be eligible, the product must be a new and innovative commercial legal information resource that enhances or improves existing law library services and/or procedures.
- “New” means that the product has been on the market for less than 2 years.
- A product that has been “re-introduced” in a new format or that has substantial changes is eligible.
- Enhancements of existing products are not eligible unless the enhancement provides a completely new method of using the product and information retrieval is substantially improved.
