Title: October Program – Halloween Party

Description: LLOPS is putting on a Halloween party hosted jointly by the Program and Social Committees. Come join us for a fun hour of horror stories, treats, a costume contest and more! Costumes are optional but you might just win a prize so go ahead and dress up! (Leave the nun chucks for your ninja costume at home as you’ll have to go through airport-style security at the Courthouse.)

Submit your tales from the trenches and win fun prizes! You can remain anonymous and we’ll read it aloud at the party or you can retell the story yourself in person (dramatic recitation and props are optional). Story submissions are due Monday, October 29 to Kim Ositis (kim.ositis@kingcounty.gov or kaositis@gmail.com). Winners will be determined by popular vote at the party.

Prizes will be given in the following categories:

The Xanax Award for the best story of loathsome patron interactions.
The Alice in Wonderland Award for the best story of nightmarish vendor snafus. (Pick a creative alias for the vendor in your story.)
The Golden Screwdriver Award for the best story of carnivorous technology.
The Frankenstein Award for the best story of a creative problem-solving kludge.
