Dear LLOPS Members,
For the past several years, the American Association of Law Libraries has been hosting the LLOPS listserv (llops@listserv.aallnet.org), but due to administrative changes and a significant price increase, we will be transitioning to a more cost-effective platform.
The Executive Board and current Webmaster, Kristin Kimura, evaluated several different options and we decided to move forward with a listserv platform called Gaggle Mail. This platform is cost-effective, it has sound privacy & data security policies, and it is easy to use.
We will transition to Gaggle Mail on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 and the old listserv will retire on Friday, October 30th, 2020. Members will receive a welcome email from Gaggle Mail, which will include our new listserv email address (llops@gaggle.email) and information about the LLOPS mailing list. If you do not receive a welcome email or if you have any questions, please contact Kristin Kimura for assistance.
Thank you,
Carly Eyler
LLOPS President, 2020-21
The Nominations Committee is seeking candidates for the upcoming LLOPS Executive Board election.
The 2020- 2021 Nominations Committee is composed of chair Barbara Engstrom (King County Law Library) and Jonathan Franklin (UW Law School). Per the LLOPS Bylaws, the committee represents at least 2 types of law libraries. We would love to have a law firm member as well, let me know if you’d like to join us.
We are currently recruiting candidates for the positions of Vice-President/President Elect and Secretary. The duties of these positions can be found in the Chapter Manual on http://llops.org/
You many nominate yourself or a colleague you believe would be an asset to the chapter. We highly encourage self-nominations. Serving on the executive board of a professional organization such as LLOPS is a fantastic way to gain executive management experience that might not otherwise be available in your organization. It is a great way to fill leadership gaps in your resume.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 6 at 5pm.
Feel free to contact me with questions,
Barbara

LLOPS is hosting a table at the iSchool Career Fair on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 12:30-4:30PM. This event is a great opportunity for companies and organizations to discuss career opportunities, job openings, internships and fieldwork with outstanding students in the information field who are potential interns and part- or full-time employees in your organization. The fair is open to iSchool students and others across campus who are seeking jobs and internships in the information science field. Last year the fair saw over 700 students in attendance. This is an ideal venue for employers interested in hiring for a wide range of information technology, information science, and library science roles.
If you are interested in attending to search for a candidate for your organization or to promote iSchool student awareness of LLOPS and the law librarianship profession, please contact LLOPS iSchool Liaison, Richard Jost.
