As part of National Library Week, the RIPS Teach-In Kit Committee is pleased to announce that the 2015 Teach-In Kit is now live. This year’s kit includes a number of legal research exercises, tutorials, and presentations on topics such as intellectual property, taxation, regulatory, and statutory research. The kit also includes a terms and connectors activity, a legal research handout geared toward visual learners, and an in-class exercise that pits indexes, keywords, and tables of contents against each other Thanks to all our contributors and to the members of our committee.

The AALL Leadership Development Committee calls for nominations for the 2015 Emerging Leader Award.The award recognizes newer members in their first 10 years of law library experience who have already made significant contributions to the Association and/or to the profession and have demonstrated the potential for leadership and continuing service. The Emerging Leader Award is presented to the recipient at AALL Annual Meeting.It is given in the name of the Association and carries with it a $500 cash prize.

The “Call for Papers” has begun! Turn your great idea into an award winning paper for this prestigious competition. The AALL/LexisNexis Call for Papers Committee is soliciting unpublished papers in the following four divisions:
- Open: AALL members with 5 or more years of experience
- New Member: AALL members with less than 5 years of experience
- Short Form: All AALL members; Shorter-length articles
- Student: 2014-15 Law School or Library School students
- March 2, 2015 for the Open, New Member, and Short Form Divisions
- May 15, 2015 for the Student Division
Winners in the Open, New Member, and Student Divisions will each receive $650, and the Short Form Division winner will receive $300, all generously donated by LexisNexis.
Winners will also be invited to present their paper at the “Librarian as Author” program during the 2015 AALL Annual Meeting in Philadelphia.
