Hiding Your Trail! Smart Online Sleuthing

Wear your camouflage pajamas to learn about protecting your privacy and ensuring attorney/client confidentiality while doing online sleuthing for individuals and businesses. More and more information is not found in a subscription product but in savvy searching of social networks and publicly accessible databases.
The Public Law Library of King County has been offering variations of the Skiptracing class for more than a decade. In this one-hour version of the class, Kim Ositis will highlight her favorite websites for accessing free background information on individuals and businesses, with specific emphasis on tips for using anonymous search engines.

Title: Monthly Meeting: eFiling in King County Superior Court

Description: Our next LLOPS meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 26th from 12:00-1:30 pm at K & L Gates.
Craig Burgess, Public Law Library of King County Circulation Services Specialist, will present a 90 minute class to demystify the process of e-Filing in King County Superior Court. His class description is as follows:
“The Public Law Library of King County’s eFiling class covers all aspects of King County’s eFiling application, from creating an account to operating the advanced features. Learn how to eFile a case, add documents to an already existing case, save your progress for a future date, and navigate the various application features. The advanced features are also covered. You will learn how to create working copies, file Ex Parte requests, serve papers on the parties in a case, and employ the eFiling Application’s new eForm Template feature.”
K & L Gates is located at 925 Fourth Avenue. Please go to the 29th floor and proceed to the reception desk . You will be to be directed to the conference room.

LLOPS President’s Message, June 28, 2012
It was great to have served as President this past year. At the meeting, I thanked many of you for your assistance this past year, serving on or chairing a LLOPS committee, providing me with input when requested, and for a few special accomplishments. The winner of the President’s Award for Excellence went to Barbara Swatt Engstrom, for another year of planning and executing an excellent series of monthly programs. Barbara also served on the Professional Development Workshop Committee, and was instrumental in both getting Ron Wheeler, our AALL Executive Board member, here for our Chapter Visit and planning a full day of activities, tours, and visits for Ron.
